What Exactly is the Greenhouse Effect?

The Basics of Global Warming.

Allows solar radiation to pass threw the earths atmosphere.
Atmosphere has a natural supply of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases capture the heat &
keep the surface of the earth warm so humans and other creatures could live on it. Without the heat, earth would be a frozen wasteland. Fossil fuels were burned to run our cars, factories, planes and power plants which added a large amount of the gas. Greenhouse gases an live in the atmosphere for fifty years or centuries. Building up on the earths capacity, and are creating an extra thick heat blanket around the earth. Gases on the atmosphere keep life on earth by trapping the suns heat. Gases allow the suns rays to pass threw the earth and warm it.
Although, it prevents escaping our warmth from atmosphere into space.
The danger lies in the rapid increase of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases.
6 greenhouse gases are; C02, Methane, Nitrous Oxide , hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, & sulphur hexafluoride. ( associated with human concern)Co2 is the main contributor to climate change.Methane is produced naturally when vegetation is burned.Nitrous Oxide, release by fertalizers.
The Heat is on

The temperature changes have increase over the last several years. The temperature usually rises when the greenhouse gases get trapped ( Co2). As Greenhouse gas accumulates, It traps more heat. Some changes could be; reduce of animals, butterflies, frogs, birds and other species. Trees leafing out earlier in the spring. Rising sea levels. Bleaching of deaths or coral reefs. Different weather patterns.

The greenhouse effect is the process in which the atmosphere traps the earth's gases and warms up the planet. Before the Industrial Revolution the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) level was much much lower. This is caused by cars, burning of fuels, and factories. Over the last few years the amount of CO2 has increased by 31%. Global warming works in a way that traps gases or reflects them back into the atmosphere. This causes the weather to change and heat up. When the inferred rays shine on the earth the ozone layer usually protects the earth and stops them. But when we burn fuels this causes the ozone layer to get destroyed. Then the harmful rays can get in and heat up the planet. The rays heat up the poles first. This makes the polar icecaps melt and the sea level rises. The cold water freezes up the land and eventually may lead to another ice age.
